Here we are again - another day, another BBC dilemma. While headlines scream about Trump’s trade war, and consumers are swamped by acres of coverage and analysis, a snapshot of the most-read stories on the BBC News website tell a different tale - ones that resonate on a human level. This raises a bigger question: Who controls the news agenda now? Once, journalists were the gatekeepers. Today, the power has shifted - social media and audience demand shape the narrative, forcing traditional media to balance public interest vs. audience interest. Love it or loathe it, the digital age has redefined relevance. If the BBC can’t prove its worth - and commercial media struggles to monetise engagement - what happens to news as we know it?!
